34 Weeks

Here we are, another week down, and only 6 to go. Today at the doctor Khloe weighed about 4 pounds and 11 ounces. She is about as heavy as an average cantaloupe. She is still getting fat under her skin to help her fill out and she is still working final touches to be ready, like lung development.

Here are some pictures of me from today...sorry about the crazy hair, but I was going to work on clearing out her room when I got distracted by the camera and posting pictures.

The ultrasound picture is of her face. (Most times it is easier to see if you already know what to look for!)

33 weeks- only 7 left to go!

Yahoo! I love getting to count down! This week Khloe is loosing her wrinkled, alien look, and looking more and more like a normal baby. Her skeleton is also beginning to harden up. She should still be over 4 lbs and about 17 inches long. She should weigh about the same as a pineapple. She has come a long way since she was a poppy seed.

Usually when I am still, I can feel her movements. Sometimes they are BIG kicks and other times just kind of sliding around. It is pretty cool.


Today, Eric and I have been married for 3 years. We don't have big plans tonight, since he is still working, but we might celebrate better tomorrow or so. We don't really celebrate our regular anniversary that much because we are usually too strapped for time so close to the Christmas holiday, so we like to do something fun together in June, for the half anniversary. Even still, today is still a special occasion. I guess this is our last one without any kids!

32 Weeks

Yesterday Eric and I went to the doctor again. Everything was normal during the ultrasound. Khloe is still a girl, and looking healthy. She is just over 4 pounds and about as heavy as a large jicama.

Now she is gaining 1/3 to 1/2 her body weight within the next 7 weeks. I can't believe how fast the time is going. There are only 8 weeks left! Khloe has toenails, fingernails, and hair on her head now.


My next appointment is in 2 weeks, so that is a sign that things are coming to an end.

The Hoopers left on Monday, and Chris came in. I love having good times with the family.

Weekend in Mammoth

These are some pictures from our trip to Mammoth with the Olsons. We had a blast.

31 weeks

Khloe should weigh about as much as 4 navel oranges now (3.3 lbs). She should be about 16 inches long. It is crazy to think that there are only 2 months left. She will grow an estimated 4-6 inches and gain another 3-5 lbs.

She is still fattening up this week. She is really growing and moving. Last night was the first night she really kept my up with her movements and Braxton-Hicks contractions. Oh well. I guess I will need to get used to loosing sleep.

This week has been really great. The Hoopers have been visiting and I have had a lot of time just hanging out with them. Today, Eric is off work, and he and his dad are moving rolls and rolls of insulation out of our yard! Yeah! (In the summer, shortly after we moved in, Eric got around 30 rolls of insulation from someone, and we used as much as we could but there is still a ton left).

Our family is celebrating Thanksgiving together this weekend, and weather permitting, we will take the trailer to Red Rock Canyon for the feast and geo-cashing. I have never been yet, so I am really excited to get to go.

I have worked a couple days this week, and they have both been pretty good so far, even thought one of them was Middle School. I am thankful for that.

God's Reminder

Yesterday before I left for Sunday evening worship and Eric left for work, we went outside to find an awesome rainbow. We were so close to it, I was not even able to get a picture o the whole thing. The rainbow stretched across the entire sky, and I was sure the pot of gold would be in our neighbor's back yard. It was a great reminder from God of his promises and I am thankful He chose such a beautiful way to remind us.

I know these pictures are not that great, but imagine a rainbow with brilliant colors and pretend you can see it across the whole entire sky. Then you might have an idea of great the view really was.

30 weeks

Ten weeks to go! 3/4 of the way there, 1/4 left! Khloe should be about 15.7 inches long and weighs about 3 pounds. She is about the same as a head of cabbage. Her eye sight should be developing more this week, and that is about all the 30 weeks article says.

Khloe had her first trip to Disneyland yesterday, and I think she really enjoyed it. Just kidding, I know that does not count for her first trip, but we had a really fun time. There were hardly any people there, which was a big change since the last time we tried to go but it was sold out, and there were seven crying children in our party. This time it was one of the happiest places on earth. I don't have any pictures to share yet but I am sure Dad or Kelcey will post some fun ones soon.

Things are going good and Khloe is kicking harder and harder every day. I guess that is a good sign that she is getting bigger and stronger. Yahoo!

National Parfait Day

Donkey: You know what else everybody likes? Parfaits. Have you ever met a person, you say, "Let's get some parfait," they say, "Heck no, I don't like no parfait"? Parfaits are delicious.

29 Weeks

This week, Khloe is as about 2 1/2 lbs, as big as a butternut squash. She should be about 15 inches long, which I can believe because yesterday, Jennifer and I were driving back from Grass Valley, I could feel her pushing out in two places. She must have been stretched out as much as she could across my belly.

She is continuing to develop, especially her brain, muscles and lungs, and her bones are hardening more and more everyday.

I can feel her kicking all the time, so that is pretty cool. She really likes to give to a go around bed time just when I am trying to fall asleep, but it is a pretty neat feeling.


Today I am going to get the shot for in case Eric's Rh factor is positive. I have not actually been able to get a hold of any of his medical records, and I have to have the shot by the end of this week. We figured it is better to be safe than sorry, so wish me luck today! I don't actually mind shots that much, so I am sure it will be fine.

Everything else is going pretty good. We are getting ready for Thanksgiving this week and the Hoopers are coming this weekend for their vacation, and then we get to go to Disneyland. Eric starts his seven days off tomorrow, so that is always fun times. I know that I can't ride very many rides at Disneyland, but it is going to be really special to get to go with Kaya and watch her experience all the magic of her first real time. (She went once when she was around 6 months old. That hardly counts for her).
And they always need someone to sit and hold the coats and stuff. I guess this is my turn. Even still, I am excited to get to go with everyone.

28 weeks and 1 day

Today I had another doctor's appointment. I passed the second glucose test, so no gestational diabetes for me! Yahoo. He said that I measured at 28 weeks and 1 day, and although he did an ultrasound, he didn't give us a picture of her this time. Oh well. Everything is still looking good; Khloe is breech right now, but she still has time to flip around before it really matters. I do have to a shot because I am Rh-, so he prescribed that to me today. I think I will do it...umm...next week. (I'll put it off as long as I can!)

Khloe weighs as much as a Chinese cabbage this week, about 2 1/4 lbs, and is aprox. 14.8 inches long. She is adding fat now and sporting eyelashes. She is also developing billions of neurons in her brain as we speak!

Everything is going pretty good here.

27 Weeks!

Khloe is as "hefty" as a cauliflower these days! She should be about 2 pounds and 14 1/2 inches long.

She has an active brain and her lungs are developing more. She even sleeps and wakes at regular intervals. I have not felt any hiccups yet, but she might have them soon.

Everything is going pretty well, but I found out today that I didn't pass the Glucose test, so now I have to take another test to determine if I have gestational diabetes. I will take the test next week, so please keep that in your prayers. I really hope I don't, but I guess it could be a lot worse.

That is all the big news for now. The Olsons are going on a trip to Mammoth this weekend. We rented a house and we are all ready for a relaxing time. Yahoo! I heard there might be snow up there, but I am not sure. Either way, we will have a great time!

26 Weeks

26 Weeks (6 1/2 months). It seems like time is flying, and I have been lame about posting. Things are going really well, and November is going to be a crazy busy month. Khloe is as long an an English Hothouse Cucumber these days (14 inches) and weighing in at 1 and 2/3 pounds.

I can feel her moving all the time now, and Eric has finally been awake enough at the right time to feel her too. It seems more like there really is a baby in there! I read on a website that other could listen to my belly and hear her heartbeat, so we tried it, and while we both felt kind of silly at first, Eric thinks he can hear it. He said there is a lot of noise in there, so I hope that is normal. I have also felt Braxton-Hicks contractions a few times, and it is weird!

I have been working more, and I have finally experienced life as a Middle School substitute. And I thought they had attitudes in high school! Yikes. I was thinking maybe Kelcey would want to have my middle schooler when the time comes...I think she would do a good job. Just kidding.

Six Months! (24 Weeks)

Ok, at least this post is in the right week. The ultrasound picture is not that good, but I am posting it anyway. It is a picture of her face in the right side of the frame.

Everything was good at our appointment; the doctor even said that Khloe would have a good chance of surviving if she was born prematurely. Of course we are hoping that she is not born yet, but it is a good thought to know that if she was, she would have a better chance at being healthy.

She is almost a foot long, about the length of an ear of corn. She is filling out and getting more proportionate. Her brain is quickly developing and so are her taste buds. Her lung branches are developing and her skin is still transparent, but that will begin to change soon.

I had a test for gestational diabetes and anemia this week; so please pray for the results of these tests. They are routinely done at this point, so I am not really worried.

I have been substitute teaching more, and I finally had a class that was stinky. I was bummed because it was first grade, and I was really looking forward to it. Oh well, I knew that day would come, so hopefully the next time will be better and I can be back on track with fun days. At least I am keeping busy, and things could always be worse. I am pretty blessed.

Eric is working days, and still enjoying it, so I am very happy about that. He is taking up golf a little bit and having fun with that. Thanks to Grandpa Gwin he has a set of golf clubs now. Fun times. He had his 24th birthday last week, so now we are only 1 year apart, and I am not such a cradle robber for this one month until my next birthday.

23 Weeks

Well, I guess I was bound to miss a week sometime. This was last week.

22 weeks...a little behind.

Sorry I almost missed the 22 weeks post. My mom and I went to Sacramento over the weekend and holiday and we got to take the Hooper kids to San Francisco. It was really fun, but also really busy. Here is a quick glimpse of 22 weeks: She is about as long as a spaghetti squash, and weighs about 1 pound. Her eyes are fused shut still, but her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are all becoming more distinct. Her skin is wrinkly, and will remain so until she is fattened up. Bring on the Moosetracks! You know I only eat ice-cream to help Khloe grow and develop; I am completely self-sacrificing. (If you know me at all, then you also know that is a big fat lie. I love any excuse to enjoy a good bowl of chocolaty goodness).

I left my camera at Kelcey's house when I was there the last time, and when I got it back, I had about 40 pictures taken by a mysterious photographer. It has been a while since we got to enjoy a poll, so I wondered if you could solve the mystery. The answer is in the photos...if you can bear to look at them all.

21 Week Ultrasound

Today we went to have the in-depth ultrasound appointment. Everything looks healthy and normal. Khloe is developing in a proportional manner, which is always good news. She is 15 ounces, almost a full pound. Her brain is nicely divided into two hemispheres, and her organs look normal. We are so thankful for good news. We were able to walk away from the appointment with a good fuzzy feeling, and feeling very blessed.

21 Weeks

Khloe is now at 21 weeks, and she is as long as a carrot. There was not too much about her development this week, but I realized that I had forgotten to post the pictures from last weeks ultrasound. These are from week 20, when we were at the doctor last. I feel like there is not too much to report, things are going smoothly in our lives, so that is always nice. I am just hanging around and growing a baby.

Update...

Ok, so I went to the doctor yesterday, and he said that today is actually 20 weeks. I was a little ahead of myself. He also said everything is looking great. The downs test came back negative, and it looks like Khloe is still a girl. She is developing normally, she has everything she needs to have, like stomach, kidneys, and a ribcage. Exciting stuff. In a couple weeks we have an appoint for the long, in depth ultrasound to really check everything out. Yeah!

20 Weeks

Here she is, Khloe, the size of a banana. She is about 10 inches long from head to heel and 10 1/2 oz. She is really growing. Tomorrow we have another doctor's appointment, and there is always the chance that she might be a he. We'll see. I don't know for sure if he will do an ultrasound but so far, he has done one every single time, so that is fun.

We are halfway through this pregnancy, so that is an exciting milestone. (You all know how big I am on any kind of milestone).

We made it home from Sacramento safely last night, and today Eric is busy adding more insulation to our attic. Being a homeowner is an exciting thing.

Also, I have been feeling the baby move for over a week or so, but this morning, Eric felt it. He said it was cool to feel it finally, even thought it is just a little bump.

I guess that is all the excitement I have to share today.

Already I'm Appreciated!

Well, I was listening to the radio this morning, and I heard that this week is Substitute Teacher Appreciation Week. Right on, I made it just in time. It is a good thing I worked on Friday. In order to celebrate, I will take the rest of the week off and go to Sacramento! (Just kidding, I was doing that anyways).

19 Weeks

Today is 19 weeks, that means I am almost halfway there! Khloe is as large as an heirloom tomato in size (6 inches) and about 8 1/2 oz. long. That is a big tomato. Her brain is designing specialized areas for her 5 senses, her arms and legs are now in proportion, and her hair is starting to sprout. I bet it will be blond like Eric and mine when we were young.

This past week has been exciting. On Thursday, I had an orientation meeting for substitute teaching, and to make a long story short, on Friday, I had my first sub job. After all my talk that I would like to start with elementary classes, and ease my way into trying high school, me first day was in an high school English class. Yikes! I had two classes of freshmen and three of sophomores. Over all, I had a good experience, nothing traumatic happened, like tacks on my chair or me cowering under the teacher's desk in tears. I only had one problem student, and he was mad at me because I caught him cheating on a test, so for the remainder of his class period was challenging. I did not have to mean and hard on everyone, although some students required more constant reminders and urging to complete the assignment.

I am glad that I did my worst nightmare first, and so now I am lined up for two more jobs already, both elementary, kindergarten and second grade. I am not as nervous now that I know I can handle high school classes, and my two least favorite grades at that. Yeah! Anyways, I am excited to have jobs lined up, and a good excuse for not wanting to do house work. Before I was just lazy, now I have a job and I will be busy. Just kidding. I am still not that busy, just bored of housework.

Next week, on the day of grinvasion (for more info, see www.grinline.com), mom and I will be going to Sacramento, so no work for me! Yahoo...I worked one day and I am ready for a vacation. Well, actually we are going in preparation for my Granddad Blachly's 90th birthday. I am excited to get to see everyone up there, since I have not gotten to go visit since we moved. Yahoo.

18 Weeks

Here she is! Khloe is as big as a bell pepper. There is not too much to say about this week. I am feeling pretty lazy today, so this post will probably not be too exciting. People are starting to say that I look pregnant now, which I think is good news. I want to look pregnant and not just like I am packing on a big belly. I don't really know if I can feel her moving yet. I have felt some weird thing things, but I would not describe the movements as butterflies, goldfish swimming, or popcorn popping, so I don't know. Everyone says that when you feel your baby move, you KNOW what it is, so who knows if what I think is a baby actually is a baby. Time will tell. I hope things are well for everyone.

The Big Event

Yesterday, on the way home from my parents house, a major event took place. The odometer on my car flipped over to 100,000 miles. There is something fun about hitting the major numbers on the odometers. Eric had been driving my car to work all week, and I new the odometer was getting close to flipping, but it was at 99,998 mi. when I got in to drive it. We ended in our driveway with exactly 100,000 miles. Yahoo!

What is amazing is that when I bought the car, it has 36,000 mi, so in 3 years, I have really racked up the miles. I try not to calculate how much gad that amounts to. I like to just enjoy the fun of all those zeros.

National Toasted Marshmallow Day

As a side note for everyone, today is the perfect day for toasting marshmallows. Who knows where this holiday came from, but it will be a nice treat tonight to roast a marshmallow or make some s'mores!

In our family, everyone likes their marshmallows done a little differently. Some like them barely warmed, others medium and toasty, and some like to set them on fire and blow them out just before they are totally charred.

It has been a while since we've gotten to vote on any thing...time for another poll! How do you like your marshmallows done?

17 Weeks...who even likes turnips?

17 weeks today, Khloe weighs as much a turnip, which is 5 ounces for those of us who might not have seen an actual turnip lately. She is about 5 inches long.

Her cartilage is beginning to get harder to be like bones. She can move her joints and her sweat glands are beginning to develop. Every little girl needs sweat glands.

I think it is pretty amazing that it is possible to know exactly what parts of a child are developing and when.


Not much else is going one for us. Eric is working this week, and Dad and Mom went to New York to visit Chris and celebrate their 36 year anniversary. They had to top our road trip by getting to go to New York City and see a Yankees ball game today. The forecast is calling for showers today in NYC, so please pray that they don't get rained out. That would be really sad.
They are also staying at a Doubletree Hotel, and I believe they are excited about free cookies. It is the little things in life that make our family happy. Fun times.

I am watching their two old dogs while they are gone, so Schooner is happy to have his friends over. I am happy to have them, but not so happy when they all want to get u a 5:30am...Yikes. It is not so bad. I am able to get a lot of stuff done in the day when I get up so early.
